Hello and a very warm welcome to My Little Brushneen Blog. I’m Kayleigh, 28, mummy to Freya, aka little monkey and fiancée to Luke.
Myself and Luke have been together for almost 10 whole years! Engaged for 4 and the Wedding is finally booked for June 2018, some would say it’s about time! I work part time as a beauty therapist and interests include beauty, fashion and photography amongst other things that it seems hard to find the time for, in fact I’m grateful just to be able to pee without an audience however despite the odd moan here and there I absolutely love being our little monkey’s mummy and wouldn’t have it any other way! I adore my little family and I’m so excited to capture and share snippets of our day to day life, those wonderful (and not so wonderful times), interests and our adventures in parenting.
If you follow my Instagram you may already know that starting a blog is something I have been considering for a long time, way back to even before I became pregnant with our gorgeous little girl! Back then, if I’d have begun blogging it would have been very much a beauty blog – products, trends, treatments etc. which is likely to make an appearance here and there .… however now since becoming a mummy my focus will primarily be parenting, lifestyle and also what it’s like living with an anxiety disorder.
Yes. That’s another thing about me, I’ve struggled with anxiety and panic attacks since my early teen years and was diagnosed with G.A.D (Generalised Anxiety Disorder). Although I still have those off days, I do feel I’m much more in control. Although my family, friends and of course my other half, Luke, are and always have been so very supportive and I can’t thank them enough, I often felt very alone. I found a lot of comfort and support from online communities, people sharing their experiences and opening up about their struggles. It was important to know that I wasn’t the only one, that I wasn’t alone, it was a crucial part of overcoming the hardest times.
For as long as I can remember I’ve loved to write and it’s one of the things that I found helped me a great deal during those anxious times, it is very therapeutic for me, writing it down on paper was like a welcome release, like it was pouring out of my system, I just never had the confidence to put it online and ‘live’ until now! I’ve discovered so many amazing bloggers through social media and know some amazing ladies that love to blog and they have inspired me more than they could possibly know. I am extremely nervous but also super excited to start this new venture and just feel I need to give it ago and that now feels like the right time.
My passion for photography was ignited after giving birth to our baby girl, I love to capture those magical moments and I’m very excited to create our online scrapbook of memories to treasure and share.
I thought It would be good to start with a little bit of an introduction, I have a few ideas that I’ll be working on over the next few days and I just want to take this opportunity to thank anyone who has taken the time to read my very first post!
Lots of love
