Hello and a very, very happy New year to you all! I hope that 2018 was kind to you and whether you’re looking back on the last year with a smile or glad to see the back of it I hope you had lots of fun welcoming in the new year and I really hope that 2019 will bring you even more happiness, laughter love and fond memories.
How was your Christmas? I know I said this literally all the way through last year but didn’t it just fly by!?
We’ve had such a lovely festive break spending quality time together and with our loved ones.
Despite Freya developing conjunctivitis on Christmas Eve our Christmas 2018 was truly fabulous. Luckily after being checked and collecting some cream the infection didn’t bother little lady too much. Thankfully it didn’t hang around for long either.
We spent the majority of Christmas day at my in laws and Boxing day, aka, Christmas day part 2, we spent at my parents and both days were truly wonderful as was the whole of our break together. I always feel so very lucky to have that time off together over Christmas and New Year.
Lazy mornings, family time, good food, get togethers and lots of laughs and that’s what it’s all about really isn’t it, enjoying time with the ones you love and of course seeing little ones face light up with excitement on Christmas morning and during the run up to the big day is absolutely priceless, kids really do make Christmas.
2018 has been a big and exciting year for us, the first half very busy with planning, meetings and final adjustments as in June after just over 11 years together Luke and I became Husband and Wife! We had the most magical day from start to finish, the weather was stunning, the venue and staff were incredible and having all our family and friends gathering to help us celebrate our big day was absolutely fantastic. It was everything we wanted it to be and so much more. Freya was an absolute star and both her and her best friend made the most perfect flower girls.
Little lady started Preschool and has totally come out of her shell, she has gained so much confidence and is absolutely loving her time there. It’s a huge step which she took to so well, settling into the new routine with no reservations and wow we are so incredibly proud of our baby girl. She has made lots of new friends, her learning is thriving and she even took part in her first Nativity, performing in front of a large number of parents/grandparents and loved it! It was amazing!
That cheeky smile of hers, she has grown so much and continues to challenge, amaze and make us so very proud. I’m so very lucky to be her mummy.
We’ve enjoyed lots of times in the great outdoors spending time in our favourite places and visiting new. Luke and I ventured to London for the Professional Beauty Show, We travelled to Manchester for my first ever blogging conference at BlogOnX which did push me out of my comfort zone but I absolutely loved it! So much so we went back for BlogOnToys in September! Work has been super busy for us both and I’ve added to my qualifications. I’ve reconnected with family and we’ve enjoyed lots of time together which has been truly amazing. There has been highs, lows, smiles, tears, joy, struggles, laughter, love and many many great times.
The latter part of the year has seen my anxiety tumble however I’m entering 2019 feeling very positive and determined to get myself back on track. I’ve made no resolutions but there are certain lifestyle changes I want to make and things we plan to do. We’ve already started making some exciting plans for 2019, including visiting some new places, home improvements, family trips, special birthdays and it’s certainly a big year for our little lady, starting proper School in September!!!
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has, and continues to support me and my little blog, it really does mean alot. 2018 has given us so much to be thankful for. Let’s hope that 2019 is just as, if not more, fantastic. Wishing a magical year any many more for us all, full of good health, laughter, love and luck. Let’s make it a great one.
Happy New year from the Brushneens
